Pine Labs launches ‘Mini’ QR-first device with card acceptance

Pine Labs, a company that helps businesses with payments, has introduced a new device called Mini, with a tag-line ‘Built for Bharat’. This device can accept both QR codes and card payments. It’s designed to make digital payments more widespread in India, especially for small businesses.

In India, most payment devices are made mainly for people who use debit or credit cards. Pine Labs is doing something different by offering a device that’s all about QR codes and contactless card payments, and they’re aiming it at small businesses.

Pine Labs has been working on improving digital payments in India for a while. They create new ways for businesses to accept payments, and they’re always looking for ways to make things better for business owners. They believe this new device will help more people in India use digital payments.

Pricing and Availability

While the exact pricing and availability details have not been disclosed, Pine Labs has stated that Mini is expected to be priced at approximately one-third of the cost of a regular Point of Sale (PoS) terminal, making it a cost-effective option for SMEs.

Commenting on the launch, Navnit Nakra, CRO, Pine Labs, said:

We’re excited to introduce Pine Labs Mini, a cost-effective Point of Sale solution that prioritizes QR-based and card tap payments. This addresses the needs of fast-paced Indian consumers and ensures a quick checkout experience for merchants while eliminating cost barriers in point-of-sale digitization.
