Nothing Phone (2): 4700mAh battery, July launch confirmed

After confirming Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC for the Nothing Phone (2), the company’s founder Carl Pei in an interview with the Forbes has confirmed that the phone will pack a 4700mAh battery, slightly bigger than the 4500mAh battery in the Phone (1).

We can expect it to come with wireless charging support that was introduced with the Phone (1). He said that the company sold close to 750,000 units of Phone (1). The company is still selling the phone Phone (1).

When asked about choosing the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 over the new 8 Gen 2 for the Phone (2), he said that it is a much more optimized chip with several updates, and the company prioritizes user experience over being first in the specs race. Another reason is also keeping the cost in check.

We still don’t have the camera specifications of the phone. Benchmark listings revealed 12GB of RAM and Android 13 for the phone. Based on earlier rumours, the phone will get a FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display and up to 256GB of storage, but the phone is also expected to come in 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB models as well, similar to the Phone (1).

The Nothing Phone (2) will launch in July 2023, the same time the Nothing Phone (1) was launched last year. This time, the company will also launch the phone in the U.S. along with other countries. It will be sold on Flipkart in India, similar to the Phone (1) and earbuds.
