Apple gave a sneak peek of Apple BKC, the inaugural Apple Store in India, for the media before it opens to the public on April 18th. This retail outlet marks a significant milestone for Apple, as it is not only the first of its kind in the country, but also stands out as one of Apple’s most eco-friendly stores to date.

Apple has revealed that its retail stores in Mumbai and Delhi, India, are set to open on April 18 and April 20, respectively. The first store, Apple BKC, located in Mumbai’s vibrant Bandra Kurla Complex, will be a dynamic hub for customers to experience Apple products and services, receive top-notch service, and participate in free Today at Apple sessions to enhance their device usage.

Today at Apple sessions

Apple BKC promises unique Today at Apple sessions, showcasing the talents of local artists and creatives. Backed by a dedicated team of over 100 staff members, customers can expect exceptional service at this much-awaited store.

Apple BKC, the newly opened Apple Store in Mumbai, India, is set to offer a special Today at Apple series called “Mumbai Rising.” These free sessions, running from the store’s opening day on April 18 through the summer, will feature hands-on activities centered around Apple products and services, celebrating the local community and culture.

A Sustainable Store Design

Apple BKC is designed to be one of the world’s most energy-efficient Apple Store locations. It features a dedicated solar array and operates with zero reliance on fossil fuels, making it operationally carbon-neutral. The store runs entirely on 100 percent renewable energy, showcasing Apple’s commitment to sustainability.

The store’s unique triangular handcrafted timber ceiling, made up of 408 pieces of timber forming 31 modules per tile and totaling 1,000 tiles, reflects the store’s distinctive geometry.

Over 450,000 individual timber elements were assembled in Delhi. As customers enter Apple BKC, they are greeted by two stone walls sourced from Rajasthan, adding a touch of local culture to the store’s design.

Additionally, a 14-meter-long stainless steel staircase connects the ground level to the cantilevered mezzanine, providing a visually stunning architectural feature within the store.

Product Offerings and Convenient Services

Visitors to Apple BKC can explore the display tables and avenues showcasing the latest iPhone, Mac, iPad, AirPods, Apple Watch, Apple TV lineups, and accessories like AirTag. Apple BKC also provides Apple Pickup, which allows customers to order products online and collect them at their convenience.

The store is staffed by over 100 team members who collectively speak more than 20 languages, ready to welcome customers from around the world and provide guidance on Apple products and the Apple Trade In program to suit customers’ needs.

Apple’s Commitment to the Community

For more than 25 years, Apple has been actively engaged in India, displaying a strong dedication to the local community. As part of its ongoing support, Apple continues to work with organizations like the Akanksha Foundation, Barefoot College International, Applied Environmental Research Foundation (AERF), and others, to make a positive impact in the region.

At Apple BKC, customers can expect a sustainable, community-centric, and customer-focused retail experience as Apple continues to expand its presence in India.
