Apple reportedly working on 11.1″ and 13″ OLED iPad Pro models for 2024

Apple is making 11.1-inch and 13-inch OLED iPad Pros that will end up coming out during the first quarter of 2024, according to display analyst Ross Young from a report by MacRumors. Earlier reports also suggest that Apple could launch a new iPad Mini by early 2024.

Young had previously noted the release of new OLED iPad Pro models in 2024; however, this is the first time we’ve heard of upgraded 11.1- and 13-inch display sizes. With larger 11.1- and 13-inch screen sizes slated for the OLED iPad Pro models, we could see a reduction in the size of the device’s bezels as opposed to a change in the device’s total dimensions.

Apple upgraded the 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pros in October 2022 by adding the M2 chip, so it wouldn’t be surprising if the next update didn’t come until 2024. As per reports, it’s not clear yet if there will be a smaller update before they switch to OLED, but Apple has no plans to release a mini-LED 11-inch iPad Pro. Instead, the smaller tablet will go straight to OLED.

Also, Young said before that Apple would release a 14.1-inch iPad Pro in 2023, but he took that back today and said that it no longer plans to make such a device. Still, bigger iPads could come out in the future, as The Information says Apple is working on a 16-inch iPad and Bloomberg says Apple is interested in making bigger iPads.

As you may recall, Apple now offers a 12.9-inch mini-LED iPad Pro and an 11-inch iPad Pro with a conventional LCD screen, with the mini-LED display remaining exclusive to the more expensive iPad Pro model. With the 2024 update, Apple might make the two iPad Pros that have the same features again.
