Intel Might Manufacture Chips for Future iPads and iPhones

Intel has revealed that it will be making the most significant technological announcement of the year at a press conference on May 4th.Rumours indicate that the announcements might be for the new 22 nanometer fabrication process and the plans to manufacture chips for Apple.

Apple has used Intel’s latest Sandy bridge processor for their computers and also for the recently announced iMacs. They also collaborated with Intel to make the Thunderbolt port. So all these make the possibility of Intel manufacturing chips for iPads and iPhones more likely.

However there are rumours which suggest otherwise because Apple currently uses the technology of ARM in it’s chips and ARM is the direct competitor of Intel.

We will have to wait and see what the announcement brings in.
