Apple’s upcoming 5th gen iPad Air to feature dual rear cameras, iPad Mini 6th gen will feature 8.3-inch display: Reports

Fresh rumours have surfaced that provide information about Apple’s upcoming iPad models, specifically the next generation iPad Air and next generation iPad Mini models. The 5th generation iPad Air is expected to get an ultra-wide rear, while the 6th gen iPad Mini is expected to get a new design with smaller bezels and no home button.

According to Japanese site Mac Otakara, the 6th generation iPad Air will feature a design similar to the 3rd generation iPad Pro model, with a 10.9-inch display and will continue to use TouchID on the power button as the biometric authentication method.

The big upgrade for the upcoming iPad Air will be its rear camera setup, where the rumours point to an extra ultra-wide camera, giving the iPad Air a dual rear camera setup. Other possible features that Apple may introduce with the 5th gen iPad Air are quad-speakers, a LiDAR sensor, 5G mmWave support, and maybe it will be powered by the A15 SoC inside.

Mac Otakara also suggested that the 6th gen iPad Mini will not feature any design changes, however this conflicts with a lot of other rumours which claim that the iPad Mini will have smaller bezels and no home button. The device will reportedly feature an 8.3-inch display, which will be an upgrade over the existing 7.9-inch display in the 5th gen iPad Mini. Apple will also integrate FaceID into the power button, similar to the current iPad Air. Along with this, the rumour also claims that next gen iPad Mini will utilize a USB-C port instead of a Lightning port.
