Apple may introduce iPads with larger displays in the future

According to Bloomberg reporter, Mark Gurman, Apple is exploring new iPad designs with larger display sizes, that may launch in a couple of years time.

In his weekly Power On newsletter, Mark Gurman talks about engineers at Apple who are exploring larger size displays for the iPad, and how they may appear in-stores in a few years. For 2022, Apple is reportedly looking to refresh the design of the iPad Pro, but will maintain the same display sizes.

At the moment, Apple offers the iPad Pro models in both 11-inches and a 12.9-inches display size options. For many users, the 12.9-inch model is essentially a laptop, which isn’t surprising considering that the MacBook Air has a slightly larger 13.3-inch display.

Having a large iPad will be great for users who want to ditch their MacBook Pro for a larger tablet experience. The newest iPad Pro has the M1 chip inside, with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 2TB of storage, which is great for power users. Apple has also been steadily improving iPadOS with better multitasking capabilities, however iPadOS still holds the iPad back from becoming a real professional tool.
