Telegram v6.3.0 update brings up to 2GB file sharing, profile videos, mini chat list thumbnails and more

Telegram has released a new update for their app, bringing the version to 6.3.0. The update brings a bunch of new features like the ability to add profile videos, improved People Nearby, increased size limit to 2GB when sharing files, mini chat thumbnails, group stats and more.

Users can now add videos to their profile, instead of a plain static image. When uploading a video, users will also be given the option of using Telegram’s media editor to enhance the image or add fun animated stickers.

Speaking of the media editor, it has also been improved. There is a new “Soften Skin” slider for videos taken with the front-facing camera and Android Telegram users can now crop and rotate videos before sending.

New features have been added to the chat screen — users will now see a mini thumbnail when they receive media from their friends. Another feature added is the ability to filter out new Chats from non-contacts by selecting “archive and mute new chats” in the Privacy & Security settings.

Telegram’s Group stats will show detailed graphs about a group’s activity and growth, along with a list of top members by number of messages and average message length. Telegram desktop now supports multiple accounts and the size limit for sharing files has been increased from 1.5GB to 2GB.
