LG TONE Free HBS-FN6 and HBS-FN4 true wireless earbuds announced [Update: HBS-FN6 rolls out this July, price revealed]


Update: July 7, 2020 – LG will start taking orders for TONE Free (HBS-TFN6) wireless earphone in South Korea from 10th to 16th July priced at 199,000 won (US$ 166 / Rs. 12,435 approx.) with sale starting from 17th. Pre-orders get concept accessory case (one from 5 colours such as mint, pistachio, lemon, strawberry, and raspberry) and Starbucks key ring.

Earlier: LG has announced the launch of two new canal-type earbuds as part of its TONE Free lineup, named HBS-FN6 and HBS-FN4. It features Headphone Spatial Processing (HSP) that was developed by Meridian, IPX4 certification, voice assistant support, fast charging, touch controls, 18 hours of continuous playback and more.

Both models feature customized EQ sound settings developed by Meridian, with 4 unique presets – Natural, Immersive, Bass Boost and Treble Boost. They are noise isolated thanks to its snug-fitting eartips, and they feature an Ambient Sound Mode that lets users listen to their surroundings via the microphones.

The higher end HBS-FN6 comes with LG’s UVnano charging case that cleans the earbuds of microbes when they are stored. It utilises a built-in ultraviolet light that can kill 99.9 percent of E. coli and S. aureus that can be present on the non-toxic, hypoallergenic silicone ear gel and the inner mesh.

LG claims a battery life of about 6 hours of continuous playback on a single charge, with a total listening time of 18 hours with the included charging case. There is fast charging support too – 5 minutes of charge will provide 1 hour of listening time. Other features that are common to both models include IPX4 certification, Voice Command support and touch controls to control music playback and volume.

The LG TONE Free models comes in two colours: Black and Modern White and will begin rolling out in key European and American markets starting next month, however the price is yet to be announced.
