Sound One X60 Neckband Wireless Bluetooth Earphones Review

SoundOne, a Hong-Kong-based company known for its audio products and smartphone accessories, launched its Bluetooth headset with neckband in India a few months back at Rs. 1,549. We got hold of this headset and used it for a while to check whether it is worth the price or not.

Design and build quality

The headset has a simple design that is similar to most other neckband wireless headsets. It also features a sliding mechanism that lets you expand to a certain extent. SoundOne X60 sport in-ear buds that have angled tips that perfectly fit in your ears, and don’t fall out easily. The earbuds are connected with the wire, and the back of the earbuds is magnetic that snap together when not in use.

The band that you wear around the neck is flexible, lightweight, and has a smooth finish. The bottom housing also offers a smooth rubbery finish. Bottom part of the neckband houses all the interactive elements. Right side sports a control playback, power, and volume, while the left side has a dedicated button that activates voice assistant. The button’s feedback is average and at times, didn’t respond appropriately too. There is also an LED indicator that glows in Red and Blue colors. Since it comes with IPX5 ratings, it can withstand sweat and light rain, but you can’t immerse it in water.

Connectivity

The Bluetooth headset supports Bluetooth 4.2, so you can connect it to Android, iOS devices along with MP3 players with Bluetooth support. It pairs to your phone quickly just by holding the power button for a few seconds to enter the pairing mode.

Sound quality

Coming to the audio quality, these headphones offer reasonably good sound quality with a decent amount of bass. It’s worth mentioning that we used OnePlus 7 Pro for testing. The volume was good, as well. We did not face any such latency issues during music or video playback.

The earbuds offer a decent amount of noise isolation as well, thanks to the angled design of the ear tips. The headset has a tiny microphone which is decent in most cases; however, when you are in a crowded, noisy environment, it doesn’t pick up your voice. This is common in most Bluetooth headsets since the tiny microphone doesn’t catch your voice.

Battery

The company promises about 8 hours of battery life, and we managed to get about 7.5 hours of battery life on a single charge, which is good. If you have Android phones running Android 8.1 or later, you can see the battery life of the Bluetooth headset.

Conclusion

Overall, the SoundOne X60 is a decent, affordable Bluetooth neckband headset at a price of Rs. 1549. It has a lightweight design, offers a decent audio experience and good battery life as well. It is available with additional Rs. 150 discount on Amazon.in so the effective price is Rs. 1399.
