This week Asus launched its flagship Zenfone 5Z in India, Reliance Jio finally introduced the JioPhone 2 months after launching the JioPhone. OnePlus introduced the Amber Red OnePlus 6. Samsung too had a launch; the company introduced the Galaxy On6 and lots more in this roundup.
ASUS launched its flagship Zenfone 5Z smartphone in India. It packs a 6.2-inch Full HD+ 19:9 Super IPS display with notch design and 90% screen-to-body ratio with AI Display for auto color temperate adjustment, is powered by Snapdragon 845 SoC with support for up to 8GB RAM, runs Android Oreo with ZenUI 5.0, has a 12-megapixel rear camera with support for OIS, Sony IMX363 sensor and 0.03s and has a secondary 8-megapixel rear camera with 120-degree wide-angle lens for portrait shots and shoot images with wider view.
It comes with Face unlock apart from fingerprint sensor on the back. It packs dual speakers with five-magnets and NXP Smart amplifier, and DTS Headphone: X for 7.1-channel surround sound and comes bundled with Hi-Res Audio earphone, in addition to the protective case. It comes with a 3300mAh battery with ASUS BoostMaster fast charging as well as AI charging.
The Asus Zenfone 5Z comes in Midnight Blue and Meteor Silver colors, is priced at Rs. 29,999 for the 6GB RAM with 64GB storage version, the 128GB storage version costs Rs. 32,999 and the 8GB RAM with 256GB storage version cost Rs. 36,999. It will go on sale exclusively on Flipkart from July 9th.
Reliance Jio at the annual AGM has introduced the JioPhone 2, the successor of last year’s JioPhone. It comes with a new design that includes a full QWERTY hardware keyboard along with a 2.4-inch QVGA screen, and it also comes with Dual SIM support, unlike the first generation model that only comes with single SIM. It has cat.4 LTE support with download speeds of up to 150Mbps with support both LTE (Band 3,5,40) and 2G (900/1800). The JioPhone 2 will be available at an introductory price of Rs. 2999 and will be available starting from August 15th.
OnePlus has officially introduced the Amber Red version of its flagship OnePlus 6 smartphone that joins the Mirror Black, Midnight Black, Silk White, and OnePlus 6 Marvel Avengers Limited Edition versions. Other than the color, other specifications are similar to the original OnePlus 6.
The OnePlus 6 Amber Red Edition edition comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage and will go on sale globally starting next week. It will be available in India from July 16th through Amazon.in and OnePlus online store priced at Rs. 39,999, same as the other 8GB RAM with 128GB storage versions of the OnePlus 6.
Samsung launched Galaxy On6 (SM-J600G), in the ‘On series’ in India. It has a 5.6-HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity display, is powered by an Octa-Core Exynos 7870 processor with 4GB of RAM, runs on Android 8.0 (Oreo) with Samsung’s own UI on top, has a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera, both with LED flash. The Samsung Galaxy On6 comes in Blue and Black colors and is priced at Rs. 14,490 and will be available from Flipkart and Samsung Shop online from July 5th.
Lenovo has launched HX06 Active Smartband, it is water-resistant and comes with OLED Monochrome display that shows activity, time, date and more. It doesn’t have a heart rate sensor. It has a 60mAh battery that promises up to 8 days of battery life and the built-in standard USB port lets you directly connect the band to a computer or USB charger for charging easily without any external cables. The Lenovo HX06 comes in Black color with interchangeable wrist straps, is priced at Rs. 1,299 and is available exclusively from Flipkart.
Vivo has officially introduced the Z1i, it sports a 6.26-inch FHD+ 19:9 2.5D curved glass display with a notch, 90% screen-to-body ratio and narrow bezels, 4GB of RAM, Android 8.1 (Oreo) with Funtouch OS 4.0 on top and features a 13-megapixel rear camera along with a secondary 2-megapixel camera, but this is powered by Snapdragon 636 instead of Snapdragon 660, comes with 128GB of storage and a 16-megapixel front camera.
The Vivo Z1i comes in Black and Gold colors, is priced at 1898 yuan (US$ 285 / Rs. 19,590 approx.), is available for order from Vivo online store, and goes on sale in China from July 7th.
Vivo has launched Z10, the company’s latest mid-range selfie-focused smartphone in India. This has a 5.99-inch (1440 x 720 pixels) FullView display with 18:9 aspect ratio, narrow bezels and 84.4% screen-to-body ratio, 24-megapixel front-facing camera with LED flash, 16-megapixel rear camera with PDAF, LED flash, Octa-Core Snapdragon 450 14nm Mobile Platform, Android 7.1 (Nougat) with FuntouchOS 3.2, dedicated dual nano SIM and microSD card slots and a 3225mAh battery, but this has 32GB internal storage instead of 64GB.
The Vivo Z10 comes in Blue, Black and Gold colors, is priced at Rs. 14,990 and is available through offline stores in Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu currently.
Dell has launched the Alienware 15 and 17, Dell G Series – G3 and G7 and Inspiron 24 5000 All-in-One in India. The Alienware gaming laptops are powered up to Intel Core i9 processor with up to 6-cores. Dell G-series laptops include G3 15 and Dell G7 15. The Dell Alienware is available in variants ranging from 8th Gen Intel Core i5, i7, to the latest i9 processors with up to 6-cores.
