Google Maps for iOS gets real-time commuting info, places around you and more

Google Maps for iOS has been updated today adding few new features like real-time commuting info, new menu buttons, places around you and more. The real-time commuting info was added to Android a year ago.

Additionally, Google is also adding a menu which includes “Explore,” “Driving,” and “Transit” buttons right to the home screen in the app to easily access the nearby restaurant, beat traffic, or catch the next bus.

It works the same way it does on Android where it will display information like nearby local ATMs, places to eat and drink, traffic times for commuting, and updated schedules of public transit.

Google says that no matter which iOS device you’re using, Google Maps will work the same and is uniform across all iOS devices. Just swipe up from the Maps app home screen and you’ll see said three tabs. These features will be rolling out to iOS starting from today and you can download the app directly from the App Store.
