RIM strong second-quarter results, bring $4.62 Billion in revenue

If you were thinking that Android and iPhone has killed the Blackberry, then you are wrong because Blackberry is showing some strong Q2 results. RIM has announced that a record 12 Million Blackberry devices were shipped during Q2. Most of us were thinking that Blackberry is gone but no, they are still in the game. The total revenue is $4.62 Billion, which is up 31% year over year, and earning per share is $1.46, which is up 76% year-over-year. Total net income is a huge $796.7 million. RIM’s Jim Balsillie said “We expect a continuation of this momentum in the third quarter as we extend the rollout of new products including the BlackBerry Torch into additional markets and benefit from heavy promotional activities and increasing customer demand as we head into the holiday buying season,”. I think RIM big boys are going to buy some Palm Islands in Dubai now !
