Microsoft has acquired Israel-based cloud management company Cloudyn. The deal is reportedly worth between $50 million and $70 million. Microsoft plans to incorporate Cloudyn into its Azure platform.

Jeremy Winter, Microsoft’s director of program management for Azure security and operations management said,

This acquisition fits squarely into our commitment to empower customers with the tools they need to govern their cloud adoption and realize the strategic benefits of a global, trusted, intelligent cloud. Cloudyn gives enterprise customers tools to identify, measure and analyze consumption, enable accountability and forecast future cloud spending.

Sharon Wagner, the founder and CEO of Cloudyn said,

Cloudyn capabilities will be incorporated into our product portfolio that offers customers the industry’s broadest set of cloud management, security and governance solutions.

Founded in 2012, Cloudyn gives enterprise customers tools to identify, measure and analyse consumption, enable accountability and forecast future cloud spending. Cloudyn has already worked with Microsoft with its Azure cloud computing service.
