Twitter COO Adam Bain quits


Adam Bain, Twitter’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) has announced he is leaving the company. Anthony Noto who has served as the Twitter’s Chief Financial Officer since July, 2014, has been named COO.

Noto will be responsible to manage company’s live content business, and revenue generating organizations including global advertising sales, data, revenue product, and MoPub, as well as global partnerships and business development. Bain had joined Twitter in 2010 from Fox Interactive Media. He has been responsible for improving and strengthening Twitter’s advertising business.


Jack Dorsey, Twitter’s CEO said,

Since joining Twitter in 2010, Adam has built an amazing team and a global business from the ground up. I’m grateful to Adam for everything he’s done for Twitter, and for his leadership and friendship over the years. I can’t wait to see what he does next!

The past six years have been incredible and I’m inspired by what Twitter has become and what it will be in the future. Anthony and I have worked side by side since he joined Twitter in July 2014 and I have full faith in what he and the teams will accomplish in the future.

Twitter said it is looking for a CFO replacement for Noto. Along with being the new COO, Noto will continue to act as the CFO until a new CFO is appointed. In Q3, 2016, the micro blogging site laid off its employees and slashed approximately 9% of its global workforce. Earlier this month, Twitter India head Rishi Jaitly and Parminder Singh, Managing Director for Southeast Asia, MENA and India also announced their exit from the company.
