Google is rolling out an update to its popular Now on Tap feature that was introduced with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The latest update adds an array of shortcuts along with a tab for nearby places.
First up, you now get a quick access to shortcuts like set a reminders, set an alarm, create and event, navigate to work and home. These quick actions appear as soon as you activate Now on Tap which bring the predictive and contextual features of Google Now. The shortcuts only appear on the homescreens and not on any other screen. Moreover, the update brings a new tap bar that suggest places nearby such as restaurants, cafes, bars and other point of interests like gas stations, ATM and so on.
Google is bringing time-to-time updates to Now on Tap feature. Earlier this month, it added text select and image search update to Now On Tap.
