Hugo Barra, Vice President of Xiaomi Global just tweeted that Xiaomi will be part of Google I/O this year that starts tomorrow. Xiaomi will unveil a new product in a couple of days. According to the teaser image that he has shared, it looks something like aa remote next to a circular device. This could be the company’s first Android TV box along with a remote with built-in microphone for voice commands.
Xiaomi already sells its Bluetooth game controller in some countries so this could enable you control Android games, making it a full-fledged entertainment device. Xiaomi introduced Mi Box Mini a compact video streaming device running forked version of Android last year that connects to TVs using HDMI and also has a remote. It recently introduced Mi Box 3 Enhanced Edition in China.
Hope we can expect another teaser tomorrow so that we can get a clear idea of what the company plans to launch at the Google I/O on Thursday.
