Earlier today Uber announced the launch of uberMOTO motorbike service in Bangalore, now Ola has launched its own Ola Bike series in the city.  Similar to Uber, Ola will also provide helmets for pillion riders.

Compared to uberMOTO that charges Rs. 3 per KM and minimum fare of Rs. 15, Ola Bike ride costs Rs. 2 per KM and the minimum fare is Rs. 30. Both the companies charge Re. 1 per minute for trip time. Ola says that this is introductory fare, so it might cost more in future.

Ola Bike series is currently available only in the city of Bangalore and will roll out in other cities in coming months.

Regarding its new service, Ola, on the official blog, said:

This first of its kind two-wheeler transportation option in India comes with the same experience as booking a cab on the Ola app, that includes driver details displayed upfront, SOS, live tracking and seamless payment using Ola Money. Additionally, all pillion riders will be provided with helmets as mandated for their safety.
