telegram_supergroup

Telegram is probably one of the most advanced IM platforms out there and many people consider it to be better than Whatsapp even though the latter has a larger user database.

Telegram is often the first to roll out new features and now again, they have rolled out 4 new features. The first feature is called Supergroups. Telegram has allowed users to make groups containing upto 200 contacts which is more than most other IM platforms provide. Generally, the more number of people are there in a group, the harder it is to keep tracker of all the activity and messages. However, at times, you do need to have a large group, perhaps even larger than 200 people and that is where Supergroups comes in. Supergroups allows you to have upto 1000 contacts in a single group. You can easily upgrade it from a regular group once you have hit the 200 user mark by clicking on the ‘Upgrade to supergroup’ button.

telegram_admins

Secondly, the admin function allows you to control who all can be the admin. By default, every member of the group is an admin but now, you have the option to appoint the admins you want. Admins will the ones who can add/remove people, change the group name and/or photo.

telegram_in_app_notifications

The third feature is an exclusive to iOS users. There is a new in-app notification that can be pulled down to reveal the full message or media. You can also send a quick reply or sticker without having to leave your current conversation.

telegram_quickshare

The last feature is exclusive to Android users. It is known as quick share and allows people to quickly forward messages in channels just by tapping on the forward button.
