LG G4 apparently facing touchscreen issues on some units

LG G4

Apparently, a lot of users are facing issues with the touchscreen on the LG G4. Users of the device on the xda forums have created threads and posts where they explain the issues they are facing in detail.

The LG G4 seems to dismiss quick taps and swipes. That is something that shouldn’t happen, especially on a flagship smartphone such as the G4.

Also the issue doesn’t seem to be affecting all G4 units out there but it is still a large number. There is a way to test if your device is affected. In order to check, you have to do the following:

  • Open the Dialer and enter 277634#*# to enter the Service Menu.
  • Go to Device Test -> Service Menu – Manual Test -> Touch Draw Test – Manual.
  • Now touch/tap/knock/slide on the test area (all of it) until its almost full and watch for missing registration (you will touch the screen and there will be no red mark).

Hopefully this is just a software issue that an update can fix, if not then hope LG does something to make things alright for the affected users.
