Motorola to roll out Lollipop 5.1 update to Moto X (2013) in few weeks

It looks like Motorola is rolling out Android 5.1  Lollipop update to Moto X 2013. Motorola’s Senior Director of Software Product Management, David Schuster has confirmed that the update is currently being tested, with a full deployment due “in a few weeks.”

“I know that a lot of people have been asking about the status of the Moto X (1st Gen) Lollipop upgrade. I can see the frustration and in some cases the anger about how long it has taken to get the upgrade deployed. It has been a struggle due to the lack of support from some of our partners but I am glad to announce that we are starting TestDrive in both the US and LatAm. If all goes well we should start full deployments in a few weeks.”

said David Schuster in a Google+ post.

Motorola confirmed in April that Motorola will directly get Android 5.1 Lollipop up from KitKat. Last week, Motorola started Android 5.1 Lollipop soak test for Moto X (2nd gen) in Brazil.
