Facebook has added its popular Trending Topics section on mobile. Available on Android devices, the trending tool allows users to see what topics and stories are most popular on Facebook.
Facebook had first launched Trending Topics in January this year on the Web. The feature on the mobile includes a more organized layout that separates things like news stories from what your friends are saying about a specific topic. When you click or tap on a trending topic, you will find five new sections giving topics more content and deeper context.
The first two sections, “In the Story” and “Articles” will show you posts from people who are part of a story and how news organizations are covering the story, respectively. While “Friends and Groups” shows you what Facebook users in your network are saying, “Near the Scene” shows you posts from Facebook users near where the story is unfolding, and “Live Feed” shows you a real-time stream of reactions from Facebook users around the world. The feed below the new sections will continue to display relevant posts ranked by engagement, timeliness and other factors.
Currently, the Trending Topics feature is available only on Android in the US and it will roll out to iOS and other countries soon.
