New Delhi – Smartphone manufacturer Acer recently held an event in the capital announcing the launch of is new Android based smartphone , the Acer Liquid. The PC maker’s new smartphone runs the Android 1.6 or Donut OS. It is based on the Snapdragon processor from Qualcomm. The phone comes with a price tag of Rs. 24,900.
Acer Liquid features a WVGA touchscreen measuring 3.5″ and it supports HSPDA 7.2Mbps / HSUPA / GSM. It has a 1350mAh battery and also features an FM radio. The phone has an inbuilt memory of 256MB which can be expanded through a micro SD. As for connectivity, it has inbuilt Wi-Fi and USB while it supports 3G services as well. The model also has a 5 Megapixel digital camera and supports Geo tagging.
The device features Android 1.6 with a planned upgrade to 2.0. Some enhancements included in the phone are the Spinlets UI and the urFooz application. The Spinlets UI allows for one touch access to frequently used webpages/applications. The second application allows you to create your own avatar to use in social media networks.
