The popular photo sharing app for iPhone is also getting updated with advanced camera controls, including manual focus, shutter speed, white balance and exposure compensation. A new syncing feature has been added that allows users to edit photos taken on their iPhone with an iPad, or vice versa.  It also has a new Web uploader tool, which lets photographers import dSLR photos for editing.

A Preview Gallery is added to the app that enables you to view multiple filters side-by-side before making a selection. In addition, VSCOcam gets “Journal” that allows users to layout multiple photos aligned with text to tell the story of what they shot. This feature is available on both iPhone and iPad.

VSCO Cam 4.0 changelog:

  • Redesigned and optimized for iPad
  • Sync functionality to enable shooting and editing across devices
  • Journal allows everyone to publish original long-form content
