Samsung bags advertising deal at London’s Heathrow airport for its Galaxy S5

Samsung has never failed to create hype around a product and the Galaxy S5 was no exception. Ahead of the launch, Samsung Galaxy S5 was expected to sport a QHD display, but things did not go as rumored and Galaxy S5 came with a 1080p Full HD display. Samsung has managed to market it very well to the people and the latest deal with Heathrow airport is an icing on the cake.

Samsung has struck a deal with London’s Heathrow airport which is also one of the busiest airports in the world to advertise its premium offering – Galaxy S5. Samsung has signed a two week promotion for its Galaxy S5 at Heathrow.

According to the deal, Terminal 5 of Heathrow airport will be called “Terminal Samsung Galaxy S5” for the two weeks during which all of the banners, digital boards in the terminal will read Galaxy S5 and contain promotional images of the device. Also, Dixon travel stores located in the Terminal 5 will have units of Galaxy S5 for the passengers to check out.

Russell Taylor, Vice President, Corporate Marketing, at Samsung Electronics UK & Ireland, said: “We are always looking for ways to maximise brand impact and this activity is testament to that. The partnership with Heathrow Airport and JCDecaux Airport was a one-off opportunity to push the boundaries like no other brand has been allowed to do before.”

Samsung has been known to market its products very well and in new ways, but this is just a whole new level of advertising.
