Android powered netbook ArcBook launched by Archos for $170


Archos has unveiled a budget netbook that runs on Android 4.4.2. Dubbed as ArcBook, the netbook is essentially a touchscreen tablet with a keyboard and trackpad.

The device features a 10.1″ (1024 x 600) touchscreen display, is powered by an ARM Cortex A9 dual-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz. It has 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage. ArcBook also has a USB 2.0 port to its left side for connecting directly to external devices. The French company claims that the device 8,000 mAh battery which lasts for about 10 hours.

Arcbook has a front facing camera for video calls and a 3.5 mm audio jack, as well as a MicroSD card reader. It comes preloaded with Office Suite Pro 6 that allows for creating and editing Word, Excel, Powerpoint and PDF files. Users will get access to the Google Play store and 15GB of free Google Drive cloud storage space.

The device is priced at $169.99 and is expected to ship sometime in June.
