Today, we have confirmation that Samsung is indeed working a QHD display for smartphones. Though Samsung hasn’t revealed that this display will be making its way to the Samsung Galaxy S5, but we are pretty sure that it will. The Samsung Galaxy S3, which was launched less than 2 years ago sported a 720p Super AMOLED HD display while the Samsung Galaxy S4, which was launched less than  year back sported a Full HD 1080p Super AMOLED display. Going by the trend, the next iteration of Galaxy S series will feature a super high resolution QHD display sporting a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels.

Based on previous rumors, the display size of the Samsung Galaxy S5 will be 5.25inches and because of the insane QHD resolution, the display will have pixel density of 559ppi which is extremely high. A display of this resolution will require a very powerful processor and a huge battery. Samsung is rumored to be announcing the Samsung Galaxy S5 just ahead of the MWC 2014 on Feb 23rd. There is no official confirmation though. We will let you know as soon as we have more information.
