Japan Display announces new 5.4-inch WQHD TFT LCD display with 543ppi pixel density

As if Full HD 1080p displays are not enough, Japan Displays has introduced a new 5.4inch WQHD(1,440 x 2,560 pixels) display for smartphones. The pixel density of this new 5.4inch WQHD display is 543ppi which is more than 100ppi sharper than the 5inch 1080p displays that set the bar in terms of display.

The display is designed in a such a way that it comes with low temperature poly silicon (LTPS) technology which not only enables low power consumption, but also makes the display module thinner and narrower. The new thinner and narrower display module will be best suited for smartphones and the new WQHD displays could be the next big thing in the smartphone race.

In addition to the 5.4inch WQHD display, Japan Display Inc has also unveiled a 6.2inch WQHD display which comes with a relatively lesser pixel density of 473ppi.
