LG Optimus G global roll out starts this month, launching in over 50 countries

LG has announced that the Optimus G would be rolled out in over 50 countries starting this month. The LG Optimus G was announced back in August, which went on sale in Korea in September 2012, and also launched in United States, Canada and Japan last year. The LG Optimus G Pro, successor of the Optimus G was announced in Japan earlier today, but no details about the global launch for that device yet.

The LG Optimus G has a 4.7-inch (1280 x 768 pixels) True HD IPS + Display with 15:9 aspect ratio, 1.5GHz quad-core processor Qualcomm APQ8064 processor with Adreno 320 GPU, 13MP camera with an LED flash, 1.3MP front-facing camera, 4G LTE support and a 2,100 mAh battery.

We reviewed the Optimus G last year, and it ran on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) at the launch, now LG has announced that the phone would be available with Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) out of the box in the launch countries. The company had started rolling out the Jelly Bean update for the device in Korea earlier this month.

The LG Optimus G would be available starting at the end of January in Singapore followed by Europe, Latin America, Asia, CIS, Middle East and Africa, and in approximately 50 countries by Q1 2013. Since Asia is in the list, we can expect LG to release the phone in India.
