Google Maps for Android gets Voice guided turn-by-turn Navigation and Live Traffic in India

Google has started rolling out 2 new features, Voice guided turn-by-turn Navigation and Live Traffic updates for the Google Maps for Android in India. The Voice guided turn-by-turn Navigation would be helpful while driving or walking. You can click the navigate button after you request for a destination. You can also turn the voice navigation off or select alternative routes. This feature was introduced back in 2009.

The new Live Traffic feature updates the traffic in Maps view. The Green route indicates fast-moving traffic, yellow is slightly slow and the Red/Black is extremely slow moving traffic. You can enable live traffic from the layers. The Live traffic feature is also available on the web version from maps.google.co.in, where you can view live traffic updates based on a day and a particular time frame. The live traffic is available only in select cities such as Bengaluru, Mumbai, New Delhi, Chennai, Pune and Hyderabad.
