Samsung Galaxy S2 leaked with specs

on October 25, 2010 – 1:40 pm18 Comments

Samsung is in the mobile market from a long time, and it’s the world second largest mobile phone maker. A few years back, Samsung was used to launch low and mid-range phones. But this year, they joined big companies like Motorola and HTC, and launched the Samsung Galaxy S, which is a high-end Android powered device. Samsung Galaxy S changed everything in Samsung’s Mobile market, with more than 5 million units sold, Galaxy S is known as one of the best smartphones available in the market.

Well, it seems that Samsung is planning to launch a successor of Samsung Galaxy S, because a screenshot of a Samsung Android phone is leaked, and it’s reported that the handset is Galaxy S2. As you can see the image above, the phone is really sexy, and it looks real to me (not photoshopped). Have a look on the rumored specs of Galaxy S2:

  • 4.3” 1280x720px Super AMOLED 2 display
  • 2GHz CPU, 1GB RAM/4GB ROM
  • 32GB of built-in flash memory, +32GB microSD card slot
  • 8 mpx camera with FullHD video recording
  • A-GPS, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi b/g/n
  • 3.5mm audiojack
  • accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity and ambient light sensors

Probably the device comes with front-facing camera (check the image), and I am sure that the device will run Android 3.0. We will see this device early next year, may be in March because Samsung also launched the Galaxy S in March, but as we all smartphone lovers are greedy, we want this phone as soon as possible. So folks, what are your thoughts about this upcoming Galaxy S2?

Ok, this is getting really bad already.

This is nothing more than a wishlist from about 4 months ago.

    IT. IS. NOT. A. LEAK.

The pic itself is a mockup an amateur did and the “leaked specs” were just the highest specs people could imagine for a 2011 smartphone. The only thing really leaked was that Samsung has plans for a Galaxy S2 phone next year but THAT’S IT.

    Goodness…

Hate to be a downer but this is getting ridiculous already.

I agree.. this is an ultra stale rumour..

And Asad Rafi.. did you even have a look at the date of the other article you have referred to? its 5th July 2010.. Very sad that you are treating this as fresh news!

  • Praveen

Bravo spineless writer/moderator Bravo! im proud of you.. you cant even take constructive criticism? How conveniently you didnt publish my comment and delete the first comment by the other guy! Im sure even this wont be published so I am writing this.. but just a suggestion that to you that you wont always get praises.. esp for such an article which is anything but breaking news.. did you see the date of the article you have referred to?! its 5th july 2010.. which is like stale news!

I am so sorry, I am a human being and I make mistakes too. I am sorry if you don’t like it

      • Praveen

Asad.. I am sorry for losing my temper like that but I am still not able to understand why my first comment was not published and Chris Chavez’s first comment was deleted. Anyways I usually keep a track of the latest news through various websites including fonearena.. which is why i was surprised why such an old article is being published now.. Sorry once again!

It’s okay Praveen, you readers are our main powers. If you are not going to correct us, then who?

The specs look more like some fan’s imagination. I am reasonably sure that a Super AMOLED screen with the mentioned specs doesn’t exist.

We have seen Super AMOLED screens with three different pixel widths so far; exactly 110mm (Galaxy S, Omnia 7), 100mm (Galaxy Beam etc) and 90mm (Wave). I think the pixel widths for new screens will fit the pattern, i.e. 80mm, 70mm etc. For a 1280×720 screen, the size would be 4.63″ (80mm) or 4.05″ (70mm). A 4.3″ screen would require a pixel width in 73.5-75.2m range. Also that would be significantly higher than the highest pixel density screen currently available in cellphone market (iphone 4, 78mm).

And if one data is not correct, I doubt the others will be too.

It was never SUPPOSED to be correct. Like I said, it was always a fan wishlist and nothing more.

But its like the rumor game where one person whispers something into another persons ear and goes down the line til.. you get the idea.

This started out a lot different 4 months ago…..

A 4 inch screen would be nice alr, while the resolution just proves too high to be true
