Samsung 15-inch and 13.3-inch Notebook 9 (2018) and Notebook 9 Pen series laptops announced


Notebook 9 (2018) Pen

Samsung has introduced the refreshed models of the Notebook 9 series and Notebook 9 Pen laptops with additional features and specs upgrade. These laptops come with a Fingerprint sensor and are powered by the Intel 8th generation Core i7 processor.

The Notebook 9 (2018) series 15-inch and 13-inch laptops feature slim near to edge design with a 360-degree hinge with a flexibility to convert the Notebook into a tablet from a laptop. They are made from Metal12 complemented by Micro Arc Oxidation (MAO) technology are lightweight as well at 995g.

All the three laptops; the Notebook 9 (15-inch and 13.3-inch) and the Notebook 9 Pen) sports a Full HD RealViewDisplay, Max 500nits and can be configured upto Intel Core i7 processor with up to 16GB DDR4 RAM and storage up to 1TB SSD (NVMe PCIe) and 512GB (NVMe PCIe) on the Notebook 9 Pen. The laptops come with Intel HD graphics and the 15-inch Notebook 9(2018) also has NVIDIA GeForce MX150 GDDR5 2GB graphic card.

These laptops come with Fingerprint sensor built-in and also has support for Windows Hello, while the Notebook 9 Pen also features an IR front-facing camera for facial recognition login through Windows Hello. Ports on the 15-inch Notebook 9 series include Thunderbolt 3 x 1 (or USB type C), 2 USB 3.0,  1 USB 2.0, 1 HDMI, 1 uSD, 1 HP/Mic, DC-in, on the other hand, the 13.3-inch Notebook 9 series laptop and the Notebook 9 have 1 USB-C, 2 USB 3.0, 1 HDMI, uSD, HP/Mic, DC-in. All the three laptops have 720p camera and an IR camera on the Notebook 9 Pen.

The Notebook 9 (2018) laptops have a 75Wh Hexacell battery with fast charge support and long-lasting battery life. The Notebook 9 (2018) Pen has a 39Wh battery. The S-pen on the Notebook 9 Pen can recognize 4,096 levels of pressure with a fine 0.7mm tip and when S-pen is ejected, the laptop launches S Pen shortcuts, Samsung Notes, and Autodesk Sketchbook, so that users can write, draw and create immediately.

The Samsung Notebook 9 Pen and Notebook 9 (2018) laptops will be available in select countries starting in Korea from this month and will roll out to the U.S in the first quarter of 2018. Both the Notebook 9 Pen and Notebook 9 (2018) will be displayed at CES 2018 in Las Vegas.
