Review : OtterBox Defender Case for Nokia E72

We had played with the OtterBox Defender Case of the Nokia E72 and here is a short review of the case. Just to give you an overview ,  OtterBox makes cases and accessories for several gadgets. Their Defender Series of cases is their ultimate offering which provides protection against shock , bump and dust . Here we have the Defender Case of the E72

The case offers 3 layers of protection. The first layer is the clear membrane which covers the screen , camera , flash, keypad with a transparent film. I found it hard to type with the key skin on , so had to remove the the keypad skin.Thankfully the keypad skin is detachable.

The 2nd layer is made of hard plastic (polycarbonate shell) and you need to place your phone inside it. The third outer layer is the silicon skin which fits around the hard plastic layer. The case itself weighs 87.50 g and is certainly a bit bulky. You also get a Hip-Holster along with the case.

Conclusion

This is the best protection available for this phone. I have dropped my phone so many times with this case on and also used the phone along with the holster in areas with tons of dust. After 1 month of using the case, I wanted to remove it just because it was a bit bulky. I was surprised to find that my E72 was Shiny new inside the case even after experiencing so many falls and being exposed to dust.

The MRP was 49.99 USD at the time of review but you could find it for lesser if you are lucky. It is certainly expensive almost 15% of the cost of the phone. If you love your phone a lot and you have the fear of dropping it (butter fingers) and if you are okay with the bulky design ,the Otterbox Defender Series case is one of the best cases you can find. Did we call it a case ? We can even call it an Armour for your Phone. If you want to give your Phone a Panasonic toughbook style protection, the Otterbox Defender Case is a great choice

Pros

  • solid build quality
