Motorola confirms Android 7.0 Nougat for range of smartphones, roll out begins Q4 2016

Google started rolling out Android 7.0 (Nougat) update for Nexus devices starting from August. HTC and Sony already confirmed list of devices that will get the update, Moto has officially announced the list of smartphones that will get the Android 7.0 update. This includes the Moto Z series, Moto G4 series, new Moto X series and more. Sadly the Moto G (3rd Gen) and even the latest Moto E3 Power is not in the list.

List of Motorola devices that are confirmed to receive the Android 7.0 (Nougat) update:

  • Moto G (4th Gen)
  • Moto G Plus (4th Gen)
  • Moto G Play (4th Gen)
  • Moto X Pure Edition (3rd Gen)
  • Moto X Style
  • Moto X Play
  • Moto X Force
  • Droid Turbo 2
  • Droid Maxx 2
  • Moto Z
  • Moto Z Droid
  • Moto Z Force Droid
  • Moto Z Play
  • Moto Z Play Droid
  • Nexus 6

Android Nougat brings several new features such as Multi-window support, Notification enhancements, Data Saver, Background optimizations, Direct boot, partial support for more than 100 new languages, and 25 locales and more. You can check out the complete list of feature here.

Android 7.0 Nougat will roll out starting in Q4 with Moto Z and Moto G (4th Gen) with other devices to follow.
