Airtel to launch 4G services in Gujarat soon, asks customers to upgrade to 4G ready SIMs

Airtel today announced that it has started offering 4G ready USIMs completely free of cost at Airtel retail stores across the Gujarat for the existing 2G/3G SIMs to switch to 4G when it launches soon.

“Customers can continue enjoying their existing 2G/3G services, while staying ready to experience Airtel 4G from the day of its launch,” said the company.

Airtel 4G is available in over 350 towns across India.

Last year Airtel launched its Rs. 60,000 crore network transformation and expansion program ‘Project Leap’ aimed at improving network quality. It also launched a microsite that allows customers to track the progress in their respective localities.

Commenting on the announcement, Murthy Chaganti, CEO, Gujarat, Bharti Airtel (India) said:

We are inviting data savvy customers to be 4G ready with a simple switch to an Airtel USIM. We look forward to serving them with world-class services on India’s widest 4G network.
