We have been hearing about Samsung’s plans for a foldable smartphone for a few years now. Today a fresh report from Bloomberg is offering more insights on Samsung’s plans for bendable smartphones.

As per the report, Samsung will make two bendable screens with OLED screens by early 2017. The phones may be announced as soon as Mobile World Congress in February. One of these foldable smartphones will apparently fold into half like a cosmetic compact, added the report. On the other hand, the second phone will have a a 5-inch display that “unfurls” into a tablet-sized 8-inch display.

Samsung had first mentioned the possibility of the foldable smartphones under Project Valley and even the report confirms the codename. We have seen a couple of patents showing how dual display handset will be able to open and close in different configuration with the use of hinges.

The report further states that Samsung will release the OLED foldable smartphones at the same time when Apple is tipped to announce its own OLED-based phones. It even mentions the possibility of Samsung naming the next Galaxy Note device as ‘Note 7′ and skip Note 6 as reported earlier.
