The Coolpad Max is equipped with a 5.5inch Full HD display. We’ve spent a couple of days with the phone and found that the brightness levels go fairly bright making outdoor usage a non-issue. The 2.5D curved edged screen is also covered with Gorilla Glass 4. Above the screen is the 5MP camera module as well as earpiece. The phone doesn’t have any buttons below the display and opts for on-screen controls. To the right side of the device is the power button and SIM slots while the left side sports the volume rocker.

Flip the phone over and you get access to the fingerprint reader. There’s a 13MP camera module up top with an f/2.0 lens. The phone supports PDAF for faster focussing speeds. A dual LED flash is placed right next to it. The entire phone weighs about 170 grams and is 7.6mm thin making it a very ergonomic and for that matter comfortable to hold device. The phone will be available in the rose gold pictured above which is just a shade darker than that found on the iPhone but looks good on the phone nonetheless.

Internally, the Coolpad Max is powered by an Octa Core Snapdragon 617 processor clocked at 1.5Ghz. There’s 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage onboard. and you can expand that via the microSD card slot. The Coolpad Max is a dual SIM device of course but the 2nd slot doubles up as a hybrid slot. Powering the handset is a 2800mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 built in for topping it off quickly.

Coolpad Max -3

The USP of the Coolpad Max is a new software addition that lets you maintain two completely distinct identities on the handset. This includes having two separate Facebook, Whatsapp and any other social media app. These can be further secured using the fingerprint sensor so that you can keep your work and private life completely distinct. We’ll have more on this in our full review shortly. The Coolpad Max ships in Gold & Rose Gold colors and has been priced at Rs. 24999 in India. The phone will be available exclusively on Amazon.in starting 30th May.
