Android VR spotted on Google Play Developer Console

Just yesterday, it was reported that Google will introduce a standalone Android VR headset at the I/O conference next week. Now, a reference of Android VR” placeholder has been spotted in Google’s Play Developer Console

Folks over at Android Police have released a screenshot that shows an additional tab of Android VR in the Developer Console. Android Wear, Android TV, and Android Auto tabs are already present here. One can see these tabs if they can sign into the Google Play Developer Console. The Android VR icon is below the Pricing & Distribution section. Similar to other tabs, you cannot click the Android VR icon and it is just a placeholder.

It is believed that the standalone Android VR headset from Google will not be as powerful as the HTC Vive or Oculus Rift, but it will be more powerful compared to the Gear VR that requires a smartphone. We will have to wait until next week to know more about the headset.
