Uber Family Profiles lets up to 10 riders pay from a single account

Uber has introduced new Family Profiles feature that allows up to 10 riders to sign in with the same account and share one payment method. Family, friends and co-workers can share the same account for their rides.

Currently the feature is only in pilot mode for Uber users in Atlanta, Dallas and Phoenix  in the US. Uber says this feature has been a popular request from customers. In order to be added to a family profile, you will need to receive an email invitation from the organizer.  Once that invitation is accepted, all future Uber rides will be billed directly to the organizer, who will receive a receipt for every ride.

For the Family Profile organizer:

  • Go to Menu and choose Settings.
  • Scroll down to “Add a Family Profile” and select the contacts you would like to add.
  • As soon as the Family Profile rider accepts the invitation, they can begin requesting rides from their own phone using the Family Profile as their payment method.
  • The cost of the trip will automatically be billed to the Family Profile and the organizer will receive a receipt for every ride.

Just yesterday, Uber launched the online food delivery UberEATS app in a handful of US cities.
