While everyone is anticipating the release of Android 2.2 “Froyo” at the ongoing Google I/O 2010, the next version of Android, “Android Gingerbread” is already in the works.
According to the FAQ Page of the WebM Project which was launched yesterday, Google told that the WebM support for Android will arrive in Android Gingerbread, which is slated for a Q4 2010 release.
However the exact version number of Android Gingerbread is not yet unknown. According to some reports, it could be either v2.3 or v3.0 itself.
