LeEco (formerly Letv) launched its flagship Le Max and mid-range Le 1s smartphones at an event in India last week. At the event the company announced several partnerships, including integration with content providers Eros Now for Video-on-demand (VOD) and with YuppTV for TV content streaming.

“These partnerships will allow LeEco to scale its Le Ecosystem model in India, bringing end-users a universal content ecosystem that enables anytime, anywhere accessibility to video content,” said the company. Partnership with Yupp TV will offer users access to YuppTV’s catalogue of live TV channels, allowing them to view television on-the-go. As part of the tie-up with Eros Now, LeEco will offer Bollywood content and regional movies.

Commenting on the content partnerships, Atul Jain, COO, Smart Electronics Business, Le Eco India said:

We’re very excited to be the first company to introduce the concept of content ecosystem on mobile devices in India. We have always been proud of our innovative content-integrated ecosystem, and these new collaborations only reiterate our commitment to build the Le Ecosystem in the country. We are confident that this will not only add an entirely new dimension to the user’s experience but will change the dynamics of the industry.

Jyoti Deshpande, Group CEO & MD Eros International, said:

Content consumption is surging across consumers with patterns changing rapidly and internet entertainment networks becoming increasingly popular. At Eros International, as market leaders in the film business, we have always strived to bring to our users the best of Indian entertainment, offering them the same unified experience across screens and we also believe in being platform agnostic. Our partnership with LeEco is part of our philosophy to provide consumers entertainment whenever and wherever they want it.

Uday Reddy, Founder & CEO, YuppTV, said:

The past few years have seen rapid growth in OTT and video consumption through internet enabled devices such as mobiles and smart TVs. Through their multi device and content ecosystem strategy, LeEco has been very successful in China. The partnership with the global internet technology conglomerate was successfully forged due to a natural chemistry and a synergy of vision between the two companies. We are confident that this association will help in optimizing the value delivered to the end-users and take our extensive digital entertainment solutions to a larger audience.
