Letv Le 1s pre-orders cross 11 million units worth $1.91 billion in a week

Letv introduced its Le 1s smartphone at an event in China last at a competitive price tag of 1099 Chinese Yuan ( US$ 172 / Rs. 11240 approx.). Today the company has announced that the company has made over US$2 billion in the week after launch event. Letv  Le 1s pre-orders have crossed more than 11 million units amounting to 12.1 billion Yuan (US$1.91 billion). The smartphone goes on sale in China starting from today.

Le uMax120 3D 4K TV that is priced at 499,900 Chinese Yuan ( US$ 78,663 / Rs. 51,09,440 approx.) has seen 1128 bookings in 48 hours, amounting to more than 500 million Yuan (US$79 million), said the company.

Regarding new achievement, Jia Yueting, founder of Letv, said:

Sales target for uMax120 is 1 billion Yuan. However, the market reaction has outperformed expectations with sales of over 500 million Yuan in the 48 hours following the product’s launch. While initial market statistics show that the capacity in China for TVs over a 100 inches is only around 200 units, the uMax120 sales have exceeded the country’s market capacity. Among the 1128 preordered uMax120 customers, 10% are business clients, 65% are from apartment owners, while the remainder was pre-ordered by villa dwellers.

Letv recently confirmed it plans to enter Indian market by early 2016 with its devices and content based Eco User Interface.

Update: Letv has announced that it sold 550,000 units of Le 1s smartphone on ecommerce portals Lemall.com and JD.com within an hour. The sales also registered several records, such as the “most sold single branded” product on all Chinese e-commerce portals, said the company.
