I will definitely give it a shoot once it’ll be available.

why not does Nokia add capacitive touchscreen in n900 both capacitive touchscreen,Symbian ^3 600MHz processor in n97,5800 and i think this will beat every rival in competitions and again boom for Nokia as n97 is not bad looking phone at all and n8 is choke slam to other phone.What you all guys think

But still symbian is an old platform,not enough apps and games to support. there is no use of 12,20mp if there are not enough apps to take full use of processor.hopefully multitouch will encourage developer’s to work towards symbian.

yes that problem was too with my iPhone and it was very annoying until i went to buy Samsung jet with 800MHz processor and it is working fine and that tells nothing is perfect and htc hd2 n900 are monsters but the next phone that i will buy is Xperia x10 as i like social stuffs with my girlfriends as it is stylish n900 is for geeks and business person who can get loots of speed htc hd2 has wonderful touch input than iPhone and last iPhone rightly named by appkiller “girly phone,girl phone or gphone”hey gphone.exe is a virus hahahahahaa

HDMI- well i will say that was required FOR THE 12mp CAMERA else it would have got the same treatment as n97 but still its not much use as all are not big video shooters so what the use left…

Finally Iphone… well i have some good news for you Iphone 4 Generation is on its way

well my dear friend m not criticizing any1 but symbina OS…. and yes i have experienced the ui if u remember when N8 was just a rumor S^3 emulator was out at that time…. using visual basic n all…… so i was one of the lucky1s to witness the demo and it surely seem to be lack of innovation and also there nothing for the business class at that time not even a good competitive email client and also was an unpolished version….. i m not sure how it looks now but the trailer video show not much has changed…..
i will prefer a nokia and intel product over symbian as it has a better scope of application development than symbian as like iphone its a closed OS

Why can’t the manufacturers make a good basic phone, on which the user can add up features as per his liking and usage. We have to pay the cost of a PC to get a good phone and half the feaures are no good for the user.

Subarn a 9 year old boy ? Well as iphone Nokia needs to get a captivating sales person to demonstrate its products. Having engineers and product designers presenting the N8 may be more egalitarian, but it doesn’t help the product sell! See recent videos of the C6 and N8…you know what I mean here. Having OPK as point man may not be helpful either…he’s a lawyer. Again, find someone who can sell in the USA as hype starts from there example cruz which was shown as ultimate in its category but was nothing more than shit Nokia also needs to emphasize why the N8 is so special and DIFFERENT:
1) Largest photo sensor on a phone, EVER
2) WIDE ANGLE high quality Carl Zeiss optics, so you will capture everything you want
3) Xenon Flash, a must for a real camera
4) USB on-the-go, so that managing storage can be done more flexibly, especially when dealing with HD video

well after months of reading blog what i concluded that android is lot better than Symbian which i have also jotted down in Facebook that well Right, lets all get some perspective. On the current Android Vs. Symbian thing, I think you need to take a big Think. Both have advantages.
Symbian is simple. Its proven, rugged and dependable. The symbian phones may have weak processors from ARM but thats because Symbian only needs a weak processor to run it efficiently. It retains the old age vestige of its heritage in that its just so easy to understand and use. Anyone used to non-touch phones should find this a sinch. The OVI store may be low in number, but most of it is actually usable and practical. Symbian also completely dominates the low-end market (i’m talking sub-£200).
Android is fantastic in that its so changeable. A manufacturer can literally rewrite the entire rule book and make it something new. This means that it can become anything, it has so much Potential for developers. It’s also cheaper than most, the cheapest android phones coming in at about £200.
The problem for symbian is that people don’t WANT old fashioned anymore. They want new, integrated, social phones with a huge base of power. Symbian doesn’t offer that, its too old fashioned.
Thats why Symbian^3 has to do more than just compete. It has to be better. Nokia will never die out, it’s got too much power in the budget market. The budget market is what gave LG and Samsung the money to start, and now Nokia has pretty much ripped it from them. But unless Symbian^3 brings something new.so angad yu were 70% right about Symbian and sorry for the words yu are right that Nokia should go for android.

i couldnt agree more…. but one thing i must say is that i had SE G700 n it had LAG it could have killed a person…. n it was Symbian UIQ3 + it had multitasking… u could load a webpage while typing a sms…. but that phone was damn slow….

yes but it does not mean n8 has bad hardware and we haven’t used Symbian 3 yet and main factor price which is aggressive and aryan and jb6789 keep it up well also angad.

like i said before nokia release a SDK for symbian 3 which is u can virtually run S^3 on the computer so i can say its insult to a good hardware (if it is what nokia claims it to be, which it never is)
they should have at least put meego or WINMO7 or atleast android its free……

Nokia had initially placed the N8 pricing between INR 22k to 24k and I have been waiting for the launch since three months. Last week I read an article that Nokia is now pricing it at INR 35k+ which was shocking and hence I decided to settle for something cheaper. I went to the Nokia priority centre in Bangalore and almost bought N97 Mini when the sales guy told me that they are expecting the N8 in a couple of weeks and the price is some where between INR 25k to 27k which was okay with me and decided to wait further. Let’s see if Nokia sticks to what they quoted earlier, else the N900 and N97 Mini is always there for the budgetary reasons.

N8 coming on 23rd sept….I heard booking will open on 12th…..there is huge demand in the market. Price will be around 24K.

I won’t ask you about the source of the information. But it’s sweet news for my ears. I guess the N8 with this kind of pricing, will make a huge impact on the competitive handset market.

Its available at least in Delhi/NCR…I checked it in Noida Shipra Mall…at Nokia shop (maybe at priority store or whatever they call it)

Had been to a Nokia Priority Center in Bangalore yesterday and booked the N8 by paying INR 2000/-. As per the priority center, the price should be around INR 27K to INR 28K and should be delivered from or after 4th October, 2010. He also said that there is no deadline for the booking as such.

Nokia’s N8 is now shipping to those of you who pre-ordered.
Based on Symbian^3 OS N8′s has 12 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens, extra large image sensor, and HDMI out.

Nokia says that availability will vary by country and operator and should be everywhere within the coming weeks.

this phone is over priced and not worth it also it has a slow hardware…. HTC Desire, Samsung Galaxy S, Iphone 4 are way better than this phone…. also the OS and the UI lags… if it hangs….. i have no idea what will happen… i had an iphone in which you cant take out the battery but never needed to do that coz it never hanged in two years of heavy usage…

Phone is worth the price,what do you mean slow hardware whatever specs it has is enough for it to work smoothly.There is no lag and this is when i had ovi maps , music player, social app, web browser, and nfs shift running in the background.Even if the phone hangs pressing the switch off button for some time switches it off.Trust me i know as i have it.
