OnePlus to launch a new phone priced between Rs 12,000- Rs 20,000 by end of 2015

OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei said last month that the company will launch another phone by the end of this year that may or may not have higher specs than the OnePlus 2. Now, a fresh report from the Economic Times is stating that the company will launch a new phone that will be a mid-ranger.

As per the report, the new phone will be priced between a price range of Rs 12,000 and Rs 20,000. Vikas Agarwal, general manager of OnePlus India told the publication that the new device which will be unveiled by end of 2015 will be more of a lifestyle and fashion product than a flagship device. He further added although the new phone will be launched globally, India will continue to be the biggest focus. Last week, an alleged device that was said to be the OnePlus Mini had visited AnTuTu benchmark site. Hence, there might be a possibility that it could be the phone that will be announced by end of 2015, but nothing is confirmed as of now.

Until now, OnePlus has relied on top e-commerce players in India like Amazon.in, Flipkart and Snapdeal for the sale of its devices. Now according to the Agarwal, OnePlus is also planning to come up with its own portal next year, from where it will sell available devices.  Popular Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi also sells its own smartphones and other device via its own Mi.com website. Since, its foray in India OnePlus has followed on-demand and shareable invite model to consumers for buying its phones. This year, the company apologized for the delayed roll out of the OnePlus 2 and stated that it now has plans to have open sales for the device in either late September or early October.
