Motorola announced last month that it will offer patches for Stagefright exploit. Few days back it announced that it has started rolling out updates with Stagefright fixes for its smartphones globally. The Moto X Play and Moto X Style smartphones come with security patches out of the box. Motorola is rolling out new updates for Moto X (1st Gen, 2nd Gen), Moto G (1st Gen, 2nd Gen, 3rd Gen) Moto G with 4G LTE 1st Gen, Moto E (1st Gen, 2nd Gen) and Moto E 4G LTE (2nd Gen). All these include fixes for the latest vulnerability in the Stagefright library (CVE-2015-3864).
Even though only Moto G 3rd Generation for Brazil is mentioned in the list, the Indian unit also received the 174MB (v23.46.4) update that fixes Stagefright exploit. It also adds Night Mode in camera in some regions that did not have it enabled in the initial production software. This allows you to take a picture in very low light with less risk of motion-induced blur (at a reduced 5MP image size). It also includes stability improvements that fix bugs and improves the stability of the phone.

The Moto G (1st Generation) recently got Android 5.1 (Lollipop) update in India that includes StageFright patch, but the Moto G 2nd Gen only got a minor update to 22.56.3 for the security fixes in India that doesn’t include Android 5.1 (Lollipop) update.
