Sony Xperia Z5 leaked in fresh video

With IFA right around the corner, we’re starting to see quite a few leaks of upcoming devices. The Sony Xperia Z5 has by no means kept itself under the radar but with this video leak, it appears that we might be about to get our best view ever of the flagship handset before it launches later this week.

As suspected, the Xperia Z5 will be joined by two variants that will flank it in terms of display size. It is highly likely that the Z5 will be equipped with a 4K display measuring around 5.2 inches. The camera is a 23MP unit that seems to have some sort of lossless zoom capabilities. Before you get carried away and assume that this is an optical zoom mechanism, in all probability the phone is achieving lossless zoom through oversampling to give you a zoomed in but lower resolution shot. The phone is also expected to have an aluminum build and a battery that should last two days of usage. Given that the Snapdragon 810 is almost guaranteed to be the SoC of choice, we do have a bit of doubt about that claimed battery life but we’ll reserve judgement till the time we’ve got our hands on the handset. All said and done, the Xperia Z5 is shaping up to be a very interesting flagship device but it remains to be seen whether Sony will be able to convert a solid product into actual sales.
