We all remember Project Zero which eventually was launched as Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. Now details have surfaced about the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Project Zen which is said to be an Edge variant of the Note series.

There were quite a few early rumors about the Note 5 but now the details seem to be more concrete as its normally after the S series launch that we get more information about the Note device. Especially since the Note series in general usually builds on the specs and features of the S series but improves it and adds stylus functionality.

The Note 5 is rumoured to come with a SuperAMOLED screen of either 1440p (2k) or 4k resolution. Screen size isn’t confirmed yet but we guess Samsung might just choose to stick with 5.7″ itself. It is expected to be powered by an Exynos 7422 processor which is Samsung’s first ever all-in-one solution that combines CPU, GPU, RAM, storage and the modem into a single chipset.

Samsung is also rumored to be testing the Exynos 7430 but chances are that it wont make it to the final device as it isn’t ready for consumers yet. Even the display resolution will most likely be 2k (1440p) even though Samsung is testing 4k and already have prototypes of both versions.

Now moving over to Project Zen, the device which is said to be the Note 5 Edge. The rumors say that it won’t be just an Edge variant of the Note 5. The specifications wont be similar as with the case of Note 4 and Note Edge or S6 and S6 Edge. Instead the device is said to pack a 5.4/5.5″ Super-AMOLED display (resolution not known), dual-edge curved display, S-Pen, Hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor, 16GB of internal memory, 16 Megapixel rear camera with OIS and an 8 Megapixel front facing camera.

That sounds a bit off to us as we expect Samsung to bring out a flagship level Note Edge device. Perhaps Project Zen will be a Note Edge Neo sort of a device that is priced lower and aiming to seller higher units. Since it is still early in development, a lot can change. Whatever happens, we will keep you updated about the two devices.
