Huawei India joins hands with Royal Challangers Bangalore for IPL 2014


Huawei India has inked a partnership deal with Royal Challangers Bangalore to be the principal sponsor for the upcoming IPL 2014. As a result of the partnership, Huawei’s logo will appear on the jersey’s of the Bangalore-based team which is captained by Virat Kohli.

Speaking on the occasion, Cai Liqun, CEO of Huawei India remarked:

“We are delighted to be associated with the game of cricket that cuts across the demographic barriers and connects masses. Our foray into cricket is a gradual phenomenon in company’s journey to transform into a consumer brand. Through this association, we aim to create a strong local resonance for the brand.

The Chinese  telecommunication equipment and service company had set up business in Bangalore fifteen years ago. Prior to this, the company has been associated with Arsenal, Paris SG Football Club and Canberra Raiders, Australia.

“We are delighted to welcome a global telecom giant like Huawei as principal sponsor of the Royal Challengers Bangalore.”

 Huawei had announced in March that it is targeting $2 billion revenues from India operations by 2017. The company recently launched G700, G610, Y511 and Y320 in India.
