Apple launches iPad Air and iPad mini with TD-LTE for China

Apple has launched TD-LTE variants of the iPad Air and iPad mini with Retina display in China. This would brings both TD-SCDMA and TD-LTE support along with standard GSM and WiFi capabilities. Apple already sells WiFi + Cellular variant of the iPad Air and iPad mini in China with support for GSM and CDMA. The LTE model is also priced similar to the CDMA variant.

The iPad Air has a 9.7-inch Retina display and the iPad mini with Retina has a 7.9-inch Retina display. Both iPads are powered by the new 64 bit A7 chip though the clock speeds differ slightly. Back in December Apple introduced iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c with 4G for China Telecom. Apple iPad Air and mini sold in India doesn’t have support for Band 40 (2300 MHz) like the iPhone 5s and 5c to runs on FDD LTE to work on Airtel.
