SHARP today announced AQUOS S2, its latest smartphone at an event in China, as it had promised. 5.5-inch (1080 x 2040 pixels) Full HD+ display with 84.95% screen-to-body ratio. It uses FFD (Free Form Display) technology to make small holes precisely in the screen for front camera and receiver. The fingerprint sensor that is present below the screen is just 3.6mm, making it the world’s narrowest fingerprint identification module. SHARP has announced that it will introduce AQUOS S2 with bezel-less screen at a global event in Beijing on August 8, which will go on sale in China on August 14. It will come with a 5.5-inch display with a screen-to-body ratio of 84.95%, and the company says that it will be as compact as a 5-inch phone. Sharp this week introduced AQUOS R, the company’s latest flagship smartphone in Japan. It packs a 5.3 inch (2,560 × 1,440 pixels ) IGZO LCD 2.5D curved glass display, metal frame and a glass back. It is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 835 processor with 4GB of RAM and runs on Android 7.1 (Nougat).
